Synonymous with elaborate, breathtaking productions, and immersive festival experiences, Insomniac has become the leading voice in electronic dance music events, and 2023 is a special milestone for the company. For 30 years, Insomniac and its founder Pasquale Rotella have shaped the industry on the tenants of peace, love, unity and respect, bringing together millions of the rave community for unforgettable memories. Today, he releases a heartfelt video looking back on his original dream, 30 years of Insomniac, and announces celebrations to be held throughout 2023.
Through the years, I had ideas of what could be possible, but never could have imagined what has become a reality today for Insomniac and the culture I love so much. Everyone on this planet needs something to believe in. Our principles of peace, love, unity, and respect are the foundations our house is built on and why our scene is still growing. We’ve had 30 years together and I’m so excited for what the next 30 years hold. It really feels like we’re just getting started. This is all because of you.

To kick off the celebrations, attendees at this weekend’s Beyond Wonderland SoCal can take a trip down Anniversary Lane. The debut of this immersive experience will highlight iconic throwback performances and will feature Insomniac photo opportunities. Take in a video collage looking back at the last 30 years on two massive, eighty-foot long video walls with the overarching message that “All Are Welcome Here.” Not going to Beyond? That’s ok! Anniversary Lane will make an appearance at all Insomniac festivals this year including EDC Las Vegas, HARD Summer, Escape Wonderland, and more.
From underground raves in 1993, to Insomniac’s longest-running festival Nocturnal Wonderland, and now global events, a renowned record label, and charitable organizations, Insomniac has cemented itself as a titan in dance music. It’s undeniable that they have shaped the scene, and reaching 30 years is quite the accomplishment. Throughout 2023, the 30th anniversary will bring more surprises so keep your eyes out for the announcements. The debut both of Hotel EDC and Caribbean cruise festival EDSea are already on the docket, but there is much more to come.
